ANDEAN ENQAN MESTANAS : AWSANGATE
Mestana cloths are an integral part of Andean culture. Handwoven during a mother-to-be’s pregnancy, they are used to receive the newborn child and afterbirth. The fabric’s natural fibers hold energetic bioresonance, maintaining fertility, creativity and life force.
Mestana cloths are used in homes as altar cloths and shawls, and by spiritual maestros for ceremony, divination, invocation and prayer offerings. These mestanas are woven by local Peruvian families who reside at the base of Ausangate at 14,500’ / 4420m.
Offered for your altar, for use as wall hangings, pillow covers, table cloths, etc.
Proceeds support the weavers of the Andean Indigenous Wisdom Project.
